Yeah and Thomas Haake or Jojo Mayer or George Kollias?? There is no 1 best drummer. You can have a 1 favorite but there is NEVER going to be just one dude that is the best.
Remo coated Ambassadors. He used to use clear Ambassadors on the bottoms, but recently has been putting coated on bottoms, too.

All heads from the major companies (Remo, Evans, Aquarian) are good. It just depends on what sound you’re going for and what enviroment your drums will be in (studio, outdoor stage, concrete floored club, etc.). Pinstripes are two-ply heads with a light control ring around the edge. They emphasize mid to low frequencies and generally sound punchy, but not bright.

what would give me a good jazzy sound, my enviroment is a garage, but my kit is sitting on carpet.
For a classic, stereotypical jazz sound, go with Remo Coated Ambassadors, Evans G1 coated, or Aquarian TC Satin Finish. They’re all single ply coated heads. And for a characteristic jazz sound, tune the drums up pretty high. Of course, there’s no right or wrong jazz sound. Tune them how you like them, put the heads on you like, and play!
He’s using Remo Coated Ambassadors – has for a long time. Remo still makes them just like they have for a long time. They come out with new lines, but the Ambassadors (and Emperors) are consistent classics.
