Jacob Armen is a child prodigy and probably one of the best gifts to the drumming world this generation has ever seen….not that I look up to the guy or anything
his “tuning” is PRECISELY where he wants it for the effect he desires
TOO MANY TOMS
Well unlike most of the the child prodigys I’ve seen he’s actually still going.
TheNextPlug, you need to realize that even though he doesn’t use all of the toms in this song, he probably uses them in other songs. It’s just like how the bass player in this video probably only used the E and A strings. I wouldn’t be so quick to criticize this guy. He knows exactly what he is doing and is a genius.

There’s almost no such thing as too many toms. Armen just takes a more musical approach to his solos (more notes than rhythms).

I have seen almost all youtube videos on him. I accept that he is a genius! most probably the fastest drummer in the world. But somehow, his drumming didn’t seem unique to me. it seemed predictable( in my opinion).. i agree i cannot play what he played at 1/10th his speed, but somehow that ‘ wow ‘ factor seems missing. May be it is too early to comment.
lol and i thought shannon larkin was a beast! (well he still is but this is just wow)
