Of all competing gaming consoles, two stood out being referred as one of the most remarkable units to have been ever created, forever redefining the gaming experience: Sony’s Playstation 2 and Microsoft’s Xbox. But the question remains unanswered to which game console should be recognized as the top performer and the only way for us to know is to make a thorough comparison of each console’s features both good and bad.

To start with, Xbox has a remarkable processing power and graphic capabilities, slightly above compared to what the PS2 has. Aside from that, XBOX is incorporated with a hard drive letting the gamers save their game progress without using additional device required with PS2 in the form of memory cards.

Apart from these features, XBOX possess raw power and has additional features compared to the PS2. One example is being able to rip music from a standard audio cd and use it to customize the soundtrack of some games which have the option to have its soundtrack be modified.

Setting system specs aside, both the XBox and PS2 have multi-player capability. To make it possible, XBOX 360 uses home LAN system while PS2 uses link cable. Playing online can be done with both gaming console but XBOX has an edge since it has an online community called XBOX Live and everything is possible there. If you prefer playing with a group of friends, you can go for Xbox since it is amazing for that purpose.

You should also consider if the games are available in the market and in your area. With this in mind, Xbox is still standing competitive. Xbox games are more inclined towards the adult market and comparing Xbox’s latest games to PS2 games, it can be said that the Xbox’s graphics are far better.

Other considerations would be the control pads that both provide. The appearance of a control pad may seem trivial but it is actually a significant factor, especially for those people who have a specific preference when it comes to gamepads. Looking at a Xbox controller, it appears to be larger than the PS2 control pad and has more buttons compared to it due to the fact that it is primarily designed to cater to the adult market.

Though Xbox may be more expensive, it has a better quality in terms of performance and has more games directed to the adult market to enjoy.

Xbox 360 and the Best Games

October 3rd, 2009

A great game is a game that leaves a memory in our heads. There are many instances when a great game and its brilliant characters make you feel as though they really exist. It leaves fans wondering if there will be a sequel and if the game is in production already. That is a great game. We can all read a good story, but playing a good story is one million times better.

For starters we will begin with one of the most visually gripping video game ever to grace gamers hands. That game would be known as Bioshock and it will go down in history as one of the best games ever. It is very unusual that a game offers such a cool game play experience while at the same time offering up such a fantastic story. These characters are going to demand your attention immediately and will refuse to let go until you are done with the game.

Another game that is just unbelievable to play is Oblivion. This is a very rare game that will offer you a brilliant game playing experience while at the same time offering up a story line that is going to blow your mind. Once you finish playing Oblivion you are going to be demanding more.

A list of fantastic video games cannot be completed without the mention of the Xbox powerhouse Halo 3. This game is delivered to players as close to perfection as one can possibly get. This is one game that you can play for months and months and not get sick of it. This game offers a cool surprise at the end of the game for players.

Not many people enjoyed Modern Warfare. When playing the Call-of-Duty games, people expect WW2 style gameplay. In the fourth installment you play a character that goes by the name Soap. This is different from all the COD games and COD 4 runs on its own engine. Multiplayer offers very satisfying rounds and intense battles. You will not be putting this game away anytime soon.

If you are looking for something that will offer you the gaming experience of playing Oblivion you are going to want to look out for Fallout 3. If you know anything about this game series you will know that the third edition of this series leaves the first two in the dust. Fallout Three is a game that is going to blow the minds of those that love shooter games of any kind. You will be pitted against some truly devilish people and creatures. If nasty bloody combat is your thing in video games Fallout 3 is the game for you.

The unstoppable force known as Gears-of-War boasts mind blowing graphics and an unmatched game play experience. When you are discussing Gears of War two there really is no game that can come close by comparison. It is simply one of the biggest and baddest video games to come along in years. You will not be able to get enough of the single and multiplayer modes and get enjoyment out of these games for years to come.

Now we look at Mass Effect. It has one of the best stories, and it not only looks great but it sounds incredible. The style of combat fits the aspect of the game perfectly. If you have not yet played Mass Effect, make the effort very soon. No other RPG comes close.

Xbox 360 and Mass Effect 2

September 25th, 2009

Remember Xbox 360′s Mass Effect, called the best game of 2007, perhaps the best RPG in the games’ history? The first Mass Effect left us all wanting more, with some of the best characters and the best endings ever. The characters themselves were multifaceted and stayed in your mind long after the game was done. Games like Mass Effect do increase sales for Xbox 360, and it certainly has earned Bioware a lot of cash, to be sure.

If you’ve played the first incarnation, Mass Effect, on Xbox in recent years, you probably still have the game saved. However, if you had this game, loved it, and deleted it, it’s going to make you a little bit sad to know that you’re going to missing out on something pretty amazing, indeed.

To those that still have the first Mass Effect saved file, hang on to it until early next year when Mass Effect 2 is released for the Xbox 360. Mass Effect 2 will import your Mass Effect character saved game and you will start Mass Effect 2 at the same point you finished the first Mass Effect.

However, that’s not what really is important here. What’s really important is that your character will retain his or her moral standing, so that the choices you made in the first game will carry right on over into this second incarnation. The choices will affect the second game, if you save your file, so that in essence you’re playing one long game.

Remember the credits rolling at the end of the first Mass Effect? Now, the second game has its start. If you’ve seen the Mass Effect 2 trailer to “tease” you about the advent of this second incarnation, you’ll see that the camera slowly pans over an armor suit that’s very familiar. The camera zooms in on the chest area, and we see “N7.” Ah-ha, it’s that of the main character, Shepherd.

Only, it’s not. Actually, a Geth soldier wears the suit, and we learn that Shepherd was killed in action. However, these accounts, as they say, were greatly exaggerated, and he’s actually back in Mass Effect 2, with a whole new threat to face.

What should you know about Mass Effect 2? Well, first of all, it shares its love of multiple endings with Mass Effect, so there’ll be some more of those. Primarily, you’ll be on a suicide mission, and the beginning of the game will tell you that. Of course, Shepherd and his team already know this.

What will it be? The entire team, and you, can live, or you can die. Whether or not you live depends upon what you’ll do and the decision to make during the game. Your decisions will shape your outcome. If you do happen to have your character die in Mass Effect 2, though, you’ll still be able to play him in Mass Effect 3.
