They do not dwell on the surround sound capability. But, I have found the surround sound to be incredible. Unfortunately, none of the digital headphone systems will allow you to watch TV with your loved ones. I am using a Sennheiser analog headphone system Sennheiser RS 130 Wireless Surround Sound Headphones and it works perfectly, no delay so I can enjoy my evening TV with my wife.
In an effort to make the units sleek, there is almost no tactile or color differential to highlight any button on either the headphones or the base. Again, we invented a solution which works for us, but the whole headphone unit seems to be designed more for appearance than ease of use.
I live in an apartment building, so can’t watch TV or listen to music very loudly without disturbing my neighbors. I’ve been waiting for some time to buy some quality wireless headphones that are lossless and affordable.
To do this, with the base and headset both in the off/standby mode, press and hold the on/off buttons on both units for approximately seven seconds. If you find that only one of your headsets will work at a time, inspect the base and see if the bottom light is flashing more than once or only once. You need to go by feel, and I suppose after some time this will become easier. Regarding range, there may be some slight improvement but not dramatic. The wireless range extends through multiple walls (YMMV). I’ve had these about a week and I think they’re great.
I have read almost all of the reviews prior to buying this product. I have used a “FEW” electronic products in my 53 years of being in the electronics industry. Thanks to Kleer’s uncompressed audio transmission technology another journey began via listening to some of my favorite Blue-rays like Oliver Stones “The Doors”. The bass sounds are outstanding and precise.
This out-of-phase problem is not something I hadn’t heard about before. Prior to purchasing the 180′s I read reviews to the extent they existed (the 180′s are a new product) and found a review where this problem was pointed out. I can walk into other rooms on the same floor without drop-off, though if I go upstairs from the base station, I do encounter some occasional zones where reception drops off. I can’t say as how good the reception would be if I went outside to deck or yard — an occurrence unlikely at the moment, since it’s sub-zero outside where I live.
The rechargeable batteries last a really long time, and charge very quickly. The base station is stylish, and the charge mechanism is really easy (there are three contact points on the top, and when you rest your headphones on top, it charges them). Since it cannot process the lossless codecs via bit stream, everything was fed to it as PCM. This caused the receiver to automatically apply its own processing (aptly named Headphone 2CH). When I decided on the RS-180 I bought it from J & R because their customer service is outstanding. The DVD product guide estimated an initial charge of up to 16 hours, but mine was ready for blastoff in about 7. It is easy to use these cans for long periods of time as the ear pieces are comfortable & compliant. I had forgotten just how good (& well produced) these guys were.
I haven’t noticed a differences in the Sound/Movie feature. They’re well cushioned, with soft fake skinny leather-like vinyl which I did not find causes sweating whatsoever. WIRELESS MP3 HEADPHONES. That’s a very accurate description. The size of the cord for the jack is long enough. Wireless MP3 Headphones.
