My kid’s birthday was coming up, and once again I had no idea what to get her. Dolls were out of the question, as she was getting a little old for them, but I didn’t know what else to buy. Her mother was of no use, so I had to go out and look for a suitable present on my own, knowing that if she didn’t like it, it would be my fault, of course.

I started browsing all the shops I could find, from toy stores, to modern electronics stores. I didn’t have a lot of money available, either, so I needed something cheap and fun. I was running out of time when I spotted something that looked interesting enough for her, and wasn’t more expensive than a couple of dolls.

I asked the salesman to explain how to use the sansa shaker 1gb, just to be sure I could explain it to her, and I bought it, hoping she would appreciate the gesture, if not the present. I decided to give it a test, on the way back, just to make sure it works. I liked it so much, I couldn’t resist and went back to buy another one, for me, so I wouldn’t borrow hers all the time.

After making it home in time to catch the birthday party, I wrapped the player nicely and handed it to her. She was very excited and I could see she liked it a lot. I showed her how to use it, and how to upload songs on to it, and she never let go of it after wards. Not even when I asked her if I could borrow it for a while.

I happily showed my wife my player, and she said I was crazy. What does she know? I’ve been using ever since, and I even started taking it to work with me. I always find a couple of minutes to listen to my favorite song.
